Off into the distance on a motorcycle!

Leave everything behind and do what we’ve always dreamed of!
Studying, working, having children, and building a house?
For us, that was something far off for the time being. Fortunately, motorcycling is a special leisure activity for many, but it became clear to both of us quite early that it was more than just a hobby for us. In summer, we gladly traded days at the lake for hours in the garage, just to somehow get our pretty beat-up MX bikes running again for a few hours.

In the beginning, we simply lacked the money to acquire a reasonably well-maintained motorcycle. As we got older and started our first part-time jobs, the first motorcycles and larger tours finally came. On every longer tour, the day comes when the return journey must begin, and each time we only thought about how many days we could squeeze out to be able to ride a few days longer.

One day, during a tour to Sibenik (Croatia), we were sitting on the balcony of our accommodation with other motorcyclists. While having a beer after work, we talked about what we planned to do after school and training. It was clear that the first step was to look for a job, study, or start an apprenticeship.

But what if we could travel the world indefinitely with our motorcycles? Leave everything behind and do what we’ve always dreamed of!

Said and done.
At first, it was just a dream. After returning to Germany, we started researching all the necessary requirements and roughly calculating the costs. With each day we spent on it, it became increasingly clear: it’s actually possible to undertake such a journey, even with our budget. One thing was certain: the preparation would be very tough! Especially since our plan was met with little positive feedback from acquaintances, friends, and family. But just the thought of the journey gave us strength, and it became more and more realistic each day until we decided in mid-May to really go through with it. First, we had to plan the route, and it quickly became clear that we wanted to include part of Europe as well (Portugal, France, Albania, Greece, etc.). From Turkey, our journey continued by air freight to Australia. After a tour through Australia, we’ll continue through Asia and America. At that point, we knew: no more parties, no more relaxed hours playing volleyball or barbecuing—just work, work, work. Said and done. We quickly found part-time jobs and, fortunately, were able to save up the budget needed to get started. The plan is to work for a while after arriving in Australia in order to finance the onward journey to Asia and America.

The hardest part of our endeavor, however, is the organization and the motorcycle conversion. Since we decided to pursue our dream, our days have been filled with working on the bike, working our jobs, and organizing visas, insurance, and medical checks. Sleep has definitely been in short supply. But with each passing day, our dream came closer.

We are incredibly excited about the trip and especially about everything we are going to experience.

We are most excited about all the new ways of life, cultures, and people, as we want to create our own worldview.

Now we can only hope that we brought enough underwear — then nothing can go wrong.

What makes the guys Tool Rebels?

The two guys from Munich, at just 18 and 19 years old, are taking on a huge project that many their age couldn't even dream of.

They follow their own path, are not satisfied with the standard, and are incredibly curious and adventurous.

We wish the two all the best for their journey and hope to hear more from them along the way.
