The phenomenon of the Tool Rebels

It can certainly be said that the phenomenon of the Tool Rebels is affecting an ever-growing number of fans in many different ways—not just us, the Wera team, but also external Wera enthusiasts. We would like to introduce you to Laura from Osset, West Yorkshire (England). In the spring of 2015, Wera UK, our colleagues from England, found a new cooperation partner in "The James Hargreaves Gruppe," a supplier of installation materials based in northern England. After successful tests of the Wera Innovation Tower in five branches, we are now successfully bringing this innovative presentation method to 50 more branches.

With each installation of such a tower, a training session takes place, allowing the branch to gain an understanding of each displayed tool and learn about the Wera brand, its history, quality, innovations, fan base, and successes.

In July 2015, the Wera team entered the Osset branch to set up its Innovation Tower and, with great anticipation, turn the working salespeople Gav, Martin, Gary, and Laura into Tool Rebels!

The Ossett team had long been part of the squad. They love the Wera brand and its philosophy, and the products almost sold themselves!

Given the success of the day and the temporary tattoos brought along, it was only natural to take a photo for a social media post!

She surely didn’t mean that seriously, did she?!

However, an employee at the Osset branch made this encounter special. Laura was already a tattoo fan, and as a newly won Wera fan, she proudly wore a Tool Rebel temporary tattoo. And she asked, "What would happen if I got a real tattoo?" She surely didn’t mean that seriously, did she?! After we explained that we couldn’t take responsibility for it or officially support it, Laura repeated her wish to get a Tool Rebel logo tattooed the next day. And the next morning, when we received the message that she was at the tattoo shop, we could hardly believe she was really serious! THIS COULDN’T BE TRUE?! But the first pictures she sent us made it clear that it was no joke. Needless to say, the entire Wera UK team briefly lost their composure, followed by the realization, satisfaction, and gratitude that not only Wera employees want to passionately carry forward the Tool Rebel idea. It’s not an everyday occurrence that we set up an Innovation Tower at a retailer, give a short product training, and one of the customers is so inspired that they get a lasting memory of us tattooed on their leg the next morning!
