Crew love...

...is true love

When we founded our surf school in 2014, I wanted to leave Germany again. A few years earlier, I had discovered my love for the island of Fuerteventura. From 2002 to 2005, I worked as a trainer for some surf schools in Europe and also for two schools here on Fuerteventura.

I have always been fascinated by this simple and reduced life, and even though I greatly appreciate the European mainland, I am always drawn back to this island of longing. Fuerteventura has power, light, vastness, turquoise water, and is very clean. You can always find a quiet corner to relax and even places where you can just be alone.

"Hey, I can still drive my bus into the sand in front of the sea, make a fire, and sleep there." Where else in Europe can you do that so easily? Fuerteventura has ultimately managed to preserve this wild and naive charm.

I could name a hundred more reasons why I simply love this island.
Speaking of love – my daughter was born on this island and is a true Majorera – of which I am incredibly proud. We usually have a lot to laugh about because, in the end, no one here really takes ME seriously; unless it’s about having to pay a fine again and finding someone to run to the office :-). Otherwise, we navigate all the potholes of life to the very bottom, as it should be! Often, we then fly out in a high arc and end up stronger than before. I would like to describe myself as naive, and accordingly, I always fall for the "wisdom" of other people. Nevertheless, I believe that humanity should preserve a certain naivety. I have already fallen flat on my face with all these facets – health-wise and socially. In life, however, it ultimately only matters how often you get back up without losing faith in yourself. And it is precisely this naivety that I want to maintain. What would life be without gain and disappointment, without pain and love?
All emotions are intensities of life and should be fully lived and loved.
Surfing is quite similar in this regard, because the water often reflects aspects of everyday life: fears, sensitivity, selfishness, anger, and especially setbacks. As with everything, it always comes down to the level of energy and one’s own will. When the flame of life is burning and you’re able to radiate and feel positive energy, you also gain the confidence to start again from zero at any time. So in a way, I also love setbacks and enjoy growing with and through them. This is something you especially need to be prepared for as an expat. Those who give up too quickly don’t always get what they want. That’s why I love encouraging people to learn how to surf.
I truly mean it when I talk about energy, and the sun here definitely helps with that.
In general, no one can beat us with the weather in Europe! Oh yes, I like dogs, very much! And longboards, surfskates, and beer – yes, beer.

From appreciation to value creation

Everyone is part of our success – and that includes our tools. We started our surf school from scratch years ago and built everything step by step with love and patience.

Our main team is often supported by many good souls who also value good tools. Every single person and every good tool is a part of our success.

"True Love is Crew Love."

In 2020, a Wera Tool Rebel came to our camp to learn how to surf. He told us about the high-quality Wera tools and the people who craft them with love.

On his second visit, he brought various stainless steel tools to the island, as high-quality tools are hard to find here. Thanks to the stainless steel, the tools don’t rust despite the salty air – as long as they’re properly maintained.

Whether it's attaching surfboard fins or repairing the motorcycle, our vehicles, or skateboard – Wera tools are now always within reach.

In 2021, we expanded and opened our own surf house "The Pine Tree" ourselves. In the house, we placed great value on high-quality materials and details. The high-quality and innovative tools always helped us a lot. Elaborately renovated, refurbished, and decorated, the new villa is located in the heart of the popular town of Lajares.
